The Lightning Strikes were formed in March 2006 by four people from Wall Heath, Kingswinford, Gornal and Brierley Hill. The bands' aim is to play uplifting indie music and to make an extra effort to give the audience a good night of entertainment. Influences of theirs are Joy Division, British Sea Power, U2, Coldplay, The Verve, Stereophonics, Snow Patrol, New Radicals and others. They have a wide variety of songs which vary from uplifting songs with uplifting lyrics, to songs that are more mellow with moving lyrics. The bands Christian beliefs and general experiences in their lives are influential in their lyrics. They have written fifteen songs to date and are hoping to record their first album in the near future.
